Traits are permanent stat modifiers. A unit holds one trait at a time. You can roll a trait when the unit is obtained, and you can replace it at any time by spending 1 Trait Reroll at the Mandra NPC in the Upgrades area of the lobby. Rarity does not change the reroll price. A Mythic costs the same one reroll as a common unit.
The 2ndAnniversary code pays 1,000 Trait Rerolls at level 10, and the daily anniversary codes add more. That is enough to fish for Solar or Deadeye. It is not, by itself, Monarch pity.
Published rates
| Trait | Chance | Hard pity | Main effect |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monarch | 0.1% (1 in 1,000) | 1,500 | +300% damage, -10% SPA, +5% range, placement limit 1 |
| Ethereal | 0.175% (1 in 571.43) | 858 | +20% damage, -20% SPA, +5% range |
| Deadeye | 0.375% (1 in 266.67) | 400 | +45% critical rate, +50% critical damage |
| Solar | 0.5% (1 in 200) | 300 | +10% damage, -5% SPA, +25% range |
| Blitz | 1.85% (1 in 54.05) | None listed | -20% SPA |
| Fortune | 2.5% (1 in 40) | None listed | +20% income, and -10% cost on non-farm units |
| Marksman | 6.5% (1 in 15.39) | None listed | +30% range |
| Scholar | 10% (1 in 10) | None listed | +50% EXP |
| Vigor | 26% (1 in 3.85) | None listed | +5% / +10% / +15% damage at tiers I / II / III |
| Swift | 26% (1 in 3.85) | None listed | -5% / -7.5% / -12.5% SPA at tiers I / II / III |
| Range | 26% (1 in 3.85) | None listed | +5% / +10% / +15% range at tiers I / II / III |
Vigor, Swift, and Range each list a 26% chance to land the family, then split into I at 13%, II at 8%, and III at 5%. There is no trait named Vampire. That name belongs to units and to a familiar, not to this table.
Pity is tracked per unit. Rolling 1,500 times across several units does not finish Monarch on any of them. The July 20, 2025 change cut rare pity from 2.5x the base odds to 1.5x: Monarch 2,500 to 1,500, Ethereal 1,430 to 858, Deadeye 666 to 400, and Solar 500 to 300. Use the current column if an older chart still shows the higher pity.
Monarch is not automatically the best roll
Monarch forces a placement limit of 1. The trait page also lists a damage change next to the unit's original placement cap:
| Original placement cap | Listed damage change |
|---|---|
| 1 | +344.4% |
| 2 | +122.2% |
| 3 | +48.1% |
| 4 | +11.1% |
| 5 | -11.1% |
| 6 | -25.9% |
The headline Monarch line is still +300% damage, -10% SPA, and +5% range. This table is the extra placement-cap row published beside it. For units that can be placed three or more times, the trait page says Ethereal will out-damage Monarch, while cost, passives, and ability cooldowns often still favor Monarch. Read the unit's placement cap before you dump a thousand rerolls.
Where to spend the anniversary pile
- Pick one unit you already place in story or Exp Rush.
- If that unit's cap is 1, Monarch is the damage trait. If the cap is 3 or more, compare Ethereal before you chase Monarch.
- Stop on Deadeye or Solar if the unit cares about crits or range and you cannot afford a 858 or 1,500 pity yet.
- Use Fortune on a unit you place for money, not on your main damage unit.
- Scholar is a leveling trait. Replace it when the unit is already the level you need.
The odds calculator uses independent trials only. At Monarch's 0.1%, 100 rerolls are about a 9.5% chance of at least one success. That calculation does not include the guarantee at 1,500.
Trait Rerolls and Memoria Shards are different currencies. Shards reroll Memoria traits. Stat Chips reroll substats. Do not spend the wrong stack at Mandra.
